Aug. 23rd Hotdog Fundraiser

Planned Parenthood Regina will be hosting a hot dog fundraiser on Friday, August 23rd from 11am-1pm. For only $5 you can get a hot dog, bottle of water, and bag of chips!

We are out at Cowessess today and look who came along! @celeste.sex.and.wellness and Penny! We are talking with the students here about how mental and sexual health are related, how that affects our relationships, and what we can do to take care of ourselves. It is amazing what these teens have to say. •
There is pressure on them to ignore how they feel and they aren't sure how to cope with difficult things but want to be able to. This is how sex education makes a difference and can save lives.

If you've noticed a lack of posts lately, it's because we have been busy at PPR! We are working with nursing practicum students and doing lots of talks in schools. Today, we are at FW Johnson for a wellness fair with @nursefally, sharing information, handing out condoms and answering questions about sexual health!

Everything changes. Sometimes it can be for the better even if it's hard. If you need to make signs to remind yourself of that, do it. Do what makes you feel good--physically, mentally, emotionally, and in your relationships. Part of dealing with change is focusing on what you can control and then trying different things to take care of yourself along the way.

The Pap test only detects cell changes in the cervix. It does not tell you if you have an STI, including HPV, although HPV infections may result in abnormal cells that the Pap test may find. •
There are separate tests for STIs (like Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, HIV, etc.), which are important to get because most people who have an STI don't notice any symptoms. •
You can take care of your sexual health by coming to our walk-in Pap clinic tomorrow night from 5-7:30PM and calling us to book an appointment for STI testing! •
It's normal to feel nervous about this stuff so we are here to help make things easier for you.
