To be tested for herpes, a person would have to have an outbreak of visible sores for a doctor or nurse practitioner to examine and swab. The swab is sent to a lab to confirm the herpes diagnosis. At the moment, the lab we send our STI samples to for testing is not accepting swabs because of COVID. We recommend contacting your family doctor or a walk-in clinic for herpes testing.

Feel free to call us during office hours if you have questions. The lab may start accepting swab samples any day.
