Zines For Sexual Wellness: 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth
Create your own zines for sexual wellness! Join Planned Parenthood Regina along with local artists and educators to make sex-ed materials by youth for youth.
Join Zines for Sexual Wellness this spring!
We will provide the space and supplies for a group of 2SLGBTIA+ youth (ages 13-17) to meet weekly, learn together, and create zines to share with our community. The group will meet over the course of 8-10 weeks to learn, share, discuss, and create around sexual and reproductive health and rights. Group sessions will feature the guidance of guest artists combined with content on sexual and reproductive topics. At the end of the program, PPR will make a portion of the completed zines freely available to the public alongside a final compilation of zines and creative experiences.
This program is for 2SLGBTQ+ youth age 13-17.
What’s a zine!?
A zine is a DIY publication that uses visual and written language to share stories, information, and skills with one another. Zines are powerful tools for marginalized communities to share knowledge and support. In queer communities, zines are often used to share the information we need to be healthy and affirmed in our bodies, as well as information for collective liberation.
About this program:
- Each participant will receive their own zine-making kit ($65 value) which includes all of the tools you need to create your own zines with us and on your own time.
